mary catherine mcgirr (nee mcgurk) was born in belfast n. ireland she was an only child , she married the late terence mcgirr (tony) and moved to aughnacloy in county tyrone they both went on to have 6 sons & 3 daughters ,( patrick , patsy R.I.P) eamonn , sean , cathal (leo) (roisin R.I.P) , cora , maureen , brendan & connor . appart from bringing up her 9 of a family mary loved to go to the bingo were she had loads of friends , mary also lived for her wee packet of mayfair cigs , mary moved to scotland to live with myself brendan & my wife donna , she lived with us for 3 yrs , she loved scotland & also loved being with her wee grandson tiernan thomas tony mcgirr (my son) mary then went into the nursing home in oct 2005 were she had many a friend , mary passed away on 27th july 2008 peacefully in her sleep , she is now reunited with my father tony mcgirr whom she loved so much & missed . mammy will be sadly missed by all who knew her . mary spent the last 34yrs in dungannon

The house is filled with holly

The Christmas cards keep coming

The gifts are tied with ribbons red
And topped with pretty bows
I’m done with all the details
As far as Christmas goes.
The fire is softly glowing

I miss you oh, so much.
If I could have just anything
My Christmas wish would be
To wake up in the morning
And find you here with me.
I reminisce our Christmas’ past
The joy and love we shared
Moonlit walks and midnight talks
And ways you showed you cared.
Staring at your picture
I long to be set free
Tonight the tears are streaming
As I hold it next to me.
Flakes of snow swirl through the air
I’m braced for stormy weather
I wait for brighter days ahead
When we can be together.
So hold a place in heaven dear
Someday when life is through
I’ll be the Christmas angel
